Traveling to See Family During the Holidays

Your family and friends are the most important people during the holiday season. They come to you with open arms and joy in their hearts. The holidays are also the time for forgiveness, renewed friendships, and love.

Travel during the holidays to see family and friends is almost required now, because families may live far apart and in many different places. A traditional Thanksgiving is the whole family sitting down to a dinner of turkey and dressing, and giving thanks for the people around the table and for the bounty they have harvested during the year. Also, this is a time for reminiscing and telling family stories to teach the younger generations about their history.

Immediately following Thanksgiving, the Christmas season begins. Travel at Christmas time is much the same as Thanksgiving- it is a time to be with your family and friends. Christmas calls for some serious shopping: the right color shirt for Uncle Roy, a new tech game for teenage Billy, and a fluffy robe for mom. And toys, lots of toys. Christmas involves decorating your home and inviting family and friends to travel to you in celebration.

Some people come down with a case of the "Holiday Blues," usually because they are not able to spend that time with the people they want to. That's why it's important to make your travel arrangements well in advance, because there are a lot of other people who will be traveling during this time too. Happy Holidays!
