Senior Discounts When Traveling

Whether you are a seasoned senior traveler, or are just now hitting the 50 plus age where you can now start enjoying the benefits of being a senior, there may be a lot of discounts you were not aware of. Most everyone knows about the typical 10 to 15 percent discounts offered by AARP and AAA, which usually includes most lodging facilities and many restaurants. However, with a bit of research online, you may find yourself saving hundreds of dollars in discounts on your travel experience.

There are several online sites that you can find that offer special vacation packages discounted for seniors, as well as discounted tours and day trips. If you already know where you are headed, and may be traveling by ground, were you aware that Amtrak and Greyhound both offer discounts to passengers age 62 and over? You can also find individual hotel and restaurant discounts if you have already mapped out your travel.

Many online sites can find you fabulous senior deals to exotic places, whether by air or cruise ship. Most of these sites will also give you a lot of senior travel information that will help you prepare for your trip, or help you find a senior guide to go with you.

Many people seem to dread the thought of becoming a “senior,” but in today’s world, seniors can actually reap a lot of benefits in many areas of travel, eating out, and other entertainment activities. When you want to plan on doing something, just always ask if there are any discounts for seniors, or conduct a search for senior travel discounts and watch how many opportunities are available to you. Always be sure to research who you are booking with to avoid any scams, then kick back and enjoy!
