Where in the world do you want to go for a vacation or to live? For seniors there are lots of choices -- fun places to visit or to live in. Do you want to stay in the United States? Almost any state will have a web site that will advertise the great places they have for seniors. Seniors seem to look for warmer places to visit, as they get older so here is a look at some of the southern states.
Phoenix, Arizona brags that they have 300 days of sunshine. There are hundreds of golf courses in the Phoenix area so you can visit or find a home site along a golf course. You might want a place along a lake or a gated community. There is every level of care available for seniors from assisted living to nursing homes in the communities of Scottsdale, Tempe and Mesa besides Phoenix.
Florida is another destination for seniors. Here, too, there are wide choices of where to live or visit and for different levels of income. Are you a Harry Potter fan? Universal Orlando is building a theme park, "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter." You can take your grandkids to visit this and other destinations in Florida.
If you want to live more cheaply than in the United States after you retire, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and even farther south into South American countries you can find retirement communities of U.S. citizens. The Seniors Vacation and Home Exchange is another way to visit places economically. There is a registration fee for either three years or lifetime. Some of the exchange places even let you use the car. Seniors, you have the world at your fingertips.
