Fun Senior Travel Spots

Many of our senior citizens are younger and healthier than the previous generation of seniors. They have raised their children and cleared out the nest and are ready to enjoy themselves with travel and trips that they may have put on hold for years. Senior citizens are traveling more now than they did approximately 15 years ago.

Seniors are ready to explore the world. You see them everywhere you go. Some are in wheelchairs or utilizing walkers. Nothing is going to stop them from enjoying their life. They enjoy touring the countryside, cruising on the Riviera, hiking in the Grand Canyon and just enjoying different restaurants or hotels. Many companies offer various discounts for senior citizens. Also available are specialty tours that provide social and cultural activities that our seniors will really enjoy.

One beautiful place is Heather Lodge, which is an adult oriented resort. It is located in Ontario on Twelve Mile Lake in Halliburton Highlands, which is not far from Toronto, Canada. They offer an on-site spa, lakeside dining, boat rentals, fishing, golf courses and several nice villages with small, quaint shopping centers. Another trip that many senior citizens enjoy is Las Vegas. There are many shows, casinos and golf courses for their enjoyment.

Another great idea that many senior citizens enjoy is going to flea markets or yard sales. The World's Longest Yard Sale is 654 miles stretching across five states. It starts in Gadsden, Alabama on top of Lookout Mountain and ends in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Along this route one can have their fill of many different restaurants, scenic tours and much relaxation.
