Family members visiting during the holidays can sometimes be quite an experience. It is always a good idea to plan ahead for sleeping accommodations. Some family members may have habits or routines that may not fit into other family members lifestyles.
Staying in a hotel may be an option, but renting an RV might be more cost efficient. But even the idea of an RV still needs to be discussed in the planning because parking an RV on someone’s property may not be acceptable.
As well, the families need to communicate about whether the RV is to be plug in or self-contained, hygiene taken care of in the RV or the family home and where accumulated garbage is to be disposed.
Another interesting thing that may have to be decided on when visiting family on the holidays is which side of the family do you visit. Family members you visit on a constant basis may be the ones you leave behind for Thanksgiving and Christmas. These holidays you might want to spend with relatives you do not get to see often.
As well, once you have married, you and your spouse have to decide which side of the family should you visit for the holidays. Since you are no longer single, you and your spouse have to make a decision from a larger list of family members.
Traveling with children during the holidays can also be a demanding time. Many times when you are visiting with family, relatives have not child proofed their homes. It may be best to go over earlier and inspect the home or keep children under close supervision.
