As a senior if you haven't traveled to visit family for a while things have surely changed. If you still drive consider the gas prices for how far you must travel. You might want to research the gas prices on the route you will travel along. If you are going across the country, and you don't fly, try the train or a bus trip. Check the availability of routes to your destination. It can be expensive no mater how you go but it is a lot less stress. If you do drive your own car you must worry about breaking down on the road. As a senior it may be best to let someone else do the driving.
A bus trip to visit family can be rewarding and a good way to sight see across the country. A train trip can also be fun and you can see the country side scenery. It is a little quicker than a bus trip but you must make sure you have a schedule for arriving and departing stations for both.
If you do fly this is surely the quickest way to go if you are going more than 200 miles to visit family. As a senior you should check with your doctor to make sure you can fly safely. If you have a pacemaker this shouldn't pose a problem but check it out first before you book your trip. You will set off the metal detector at the airport so the agents there should know about it before you cross the line.
