Traveling has its special joys when you are retired. No longer is there a full-time job with a two week vacation. You don't have to hurry, plan and then dash off to "relax," only to have work lingering in the wings. Time is now on your side.
Some folks like to invest in an RV as it's like taking your home with you. All the conveniences are available to you. The open road is your guide and you can stop and enjoy the scenery on your way. You don't have to stop for food or lodging since you've got it right there with you.
If you like to sail and a sailboat/yacht is within your budget, this is another fun way to travel. Sail along the coastlines and stop at the many port cities. Spend a day site seeing or stop at a restaurant or a fresh market. See how other retired folks live and take in the nightlife. Once you’re done, your sailboat awaits you for a peaceful night. As dawn breaks, you wake to another adventurous day.
Seniors also find traveling by air enjoyable. Leave the flying to the experts. However, keep in mind if you have special medical conditions to prepare in advance. Don't pack prescription drugs in your luggage. You may need these at a moments notice, so keep them with your carry on. Carry a medical card so that if something does happen, and you are unable to talk, the information card will supply the necessary answers.
What a perfect time in your life to travel. Join up with other retired couples and make it a memorable time.
